Litigation in the UK refers to the process of resolving disputes through the court system. Litigation is the formal process of taking a dispute to court. If parties cannot resolve their differences through negotiation or alternative dispute resolution (ADR), they may resort to litigation to seek a legal judgment.

- Taking your initial instructions, reviewing the papers and advising you on merits and likely chances to succeed (this is likely to be revisited throughout the matter and subject to change)
- Entering into pre-action protocol activities to explore whether a settlement can be reached.
- Preparing claim (if acting for the Claimant)
- Preparing Defence and Counterclaim (if acting for the Defendant)
- Reviewing and advising on claim or defence and/or counterclaim from other party
- Exploring settlement and negotiating settlement throughout the process
- Drafting witness statements, position statements and other pleadings
- Instructing Barrister and other experts as necessary
- Preparing for (and attending) court hearings
- Exchanging documents with the other party and agreeing a bundle of documents
- Preparing bundle of documents
- Reviewing and advising on the other party’s witness statements and other pleadings
- Advising and preparation for the Alternative Dispute Resolution, if necessary.
